Meet the Human Resources Team
Lisa Schmidt, SHRM-CP
Senior Director of Human Resources
As the Senior Director of Human Resources, I bring over 20 years of diverse, strategic human resources experience to New Hope Community. I have the privilege to oversee the HR team and serve as the driving force for excellent customer service to our staff. Some of my areas of expertise include employee relations, performance management, benefits, and policy development.
I began my career at the Anderson School in Poughkeepsie, NY as a Benefits Administrator, where I managed all aspects of employee benefits. Later, I moved to New Hope Community as a Benefits Administrator, where I was quickly promoted to Director of Human Resources. I worked in this role for approximately 8 years, until I decided to pursue personal family opportunities.
I most recently rejoined the New Hope Community family as a Human Resource Consultant. In this role, I partnered with senior management to create and develop enhanced recruitment and retention experiences for the staff. When the Senior Director, Human Resources position was developed, I joined the New Hope family once again on a full-time basis.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western New England University in Springfield, MA and a Master’s degree from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. I received my SHRM-CP certification in 2004.
Brittany Caruso
Human Resource Administration Support Specialist
I currently serve as the Human Resource Administration Support Specialist at New Hope Community and monitor all Human Resource functions and procedures. I believe our staff are the fundamental element of who New Hope Community is. Without our dedicated staff, we couldn’t provide vital supports to the people we support. I enjoy being a part of bringing those important staff members to New Hope.
I started my career at New Hope in our residential homes as an Assistant House Manager in 2014 and was promoted to House Manager in 2016. I joined the Human Resource Department in 2021. Prior to joining New Hope Community, I worked in the human services field for a local agency.
I have always enjoyed my interactions with the people we support and the relationships I have formed over the years. Watching them grow, develop, and learn is very rewarding.
I earned my Associate degree in Health Science from SUNY Sullivan in Loch Sheldrake, NY. I love time with my family and enjoy gardening.
Tiffany Dumornay

I joined New Hope Community in November of 2022. As the Benefits Specialist, I direct and plan the day-to-day operations of New Hope’s group benefits program. During my time there, I was recognized as a dedicated employee and was also a recipient of a staff recognition award. Before my career in benefits administration, I was a Med Tech for 13 years in the OB/GYN field at medical facilities in the New York metro area.
I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY. I have an event planning company and enjoy decorating and creating in my spare time.
