For the second time, in November 2019, New Hope Community was awarded the coveted four-year Person-Centered Excellence National Accreditation from the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL). As part of the accreditation process, we continue to review and enhance our systems and reaffirm our commitment to providing the highest level of supports and services for the people we support. This prestigious accreditation confirms New Hope Community shares CQL’s vision and commitment to improving the quality of life for people receiving supports. For more than 40 years, CQL has been the preeminent leader in defining, measuring and improving the quality of life for all people, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Organizations that are awarded accreditation by CQL meet a stringent set of criteria and demonstrate an on-going commitment to person-centered excellence.
In CQL’s own words, accreditation is important because, “Through an open, honest, and unbiased evaluation by outside experts, accreditation equips organizations with valuable information and action steps for improvement.” Accreditation isn’t about passing a test, but rather participating in a process that will bring about systemic, meaningful transformation. We feel it is crucial to be at the forefront of all innovative changes for the benefit of the people we support. As an organization, we are committed to implementing positive approaches that support a person’s best life.
